Secondary residence

A second registered address in Germany, in addition to your primary residence (Hauptwohnsitz). Some cities charge an extra Zweitwohnsitzsteuer (secondary residence tax). Students living in one city but registered at their parents' home may need to register a Zweitwohnsitz.
